Portable, easy-to-use and accurate field test kits help detect
contaminants and their extent on the site. Knowing about the
contaminants is e.g. crucial during clean-ups of contaminated sites.
Field instruments and test kits allow quick and cost-effective single
measurements. The immediate availability of the results and the
possibility to adapt the initially foreseen sampling procedure to the
actual situation, improve the assessment of the site. It is very likely
that hot spots will be found and that their extent can be quantified
sufficiently.
The
Dexsil field test kits have been in use for many years throughout the
world. The tests are widely accepted, and even environmental authorities
and laboratories appreciate their merits. Most of the Dexsil test kits
comply either with US EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) or ASTM
(American Society for Testing and Material) methods.
This field test kit has become the standard in testing for PCBs in insulating fluid. CLOR-N-OIL is fast, accurate, inexpensive and easy to use. The test kit is available for testing transformer oil at action levels of 20, 50 and 500 ppm.
CLOR-N-SOIL
The CLOR-N-SOIL field screening kit detects PCB in soil samples. In 10 minutes the test will tell you if your sample contains greater or less than 50 ppm PCB. The kit can test any kind of soil including sand, topsoil, sediment and clay.
L 2000 DX CHLORID-ANALYSER
The
L2000 DX is a portable field instrument which determines the
concentration of PCB and chlorinated organic compounds in oil, soil
and water matrixes. The usable measurement range for oils and soils
is 2 to 2000 ppm, and 10 ppb to 2000 ppm for water. The L2000 DX
quantifies the extracted chloride of a sample and converts the chloride
concentration to ppb or ppm PCB. The analyser can be used in the field
or laboratory (battery and line power) by non-technical personnel.
The L2000 DX eliminates the need to wait days or even weeks for
laboratory results. An oil sample requires about 5 minutes to run while
soil tests take about 10 minutes. The instrument can also be used to
quantify pesticides.
PetroFLAG
The PetroFLAG system is a field portable method for the determination of total petroleum hydrocarbons in soil. The detection range is 10 to 2000 ppm. The principle is based on a physical measurement, so the analysis is easy to perform and not susceptible to interferences which can occur in the case of immunological tests. The test procedure uses no CFCs. PetroFLAG is ideal for site surveys, for monitoring the progress of remediation activities and in the case of accidents.
CLOR-D-TECT Q4000
The kit determines the chlorine level of used oil over the range of 200 to 4000 ppm. CLOR-D-TECT Q4000 is a proven test to measure chlorine in hydraulic, diesel, lubricating oils and any hydrocarbon based solvent.
PERCENT-A-CLOR
PERCENT-A-CLOR is used to determine high levels of chlorinated organic compounds in oils, solvents and other liquid wastes (0 to 10 %), in less than 5 minutes. This field test is particularly ideal for screenings, before acceptance, treatment or incineration of waste occurs.
HYDROCLOR-Q
HYDROCLOR-Q is a quantitative field test kit to measure organic
chlorine contamination in oil/water mixtures and used antifreeze.
The test takes less than 10 minutes to run and quantifies total organic
chlorine in the range of 200 to 4000 ppm. It can be used on
water-soluble cutting fluids, sump and bilge water, antifreeze or any
fluid that contains greater than 70 % water.
TITRA-LUBE TAN
TITRA-LUBE TAN has been designed for oil quality analyses at the job site. Oxidation of oil, such as lubricating, hydraulic, pump and other oils, is one main cause of mechanical malfunction. These oils can be analysed for TAN (Total Acid Number) quickly and easily by using the TITRA-LUBE TAN test kits. The test covers the range of 0 to 2 TAN units (mg KOH/gram of oil). TITRA-LUBE TAN closely matches results obtained by more costly laboratory methods such as ASTM Method D-664.

TBN
TITRA-LUBE TBN can be used in the field or in a laboratory to determine accurately the TBN (Total Base Number) level in diesel engine oils, in less than 5 minutes. The test provides a colorimetric determination of TBN between 0 and 20 KOH per gram of sample. By using this test kit unnecessary oil changes in machines, equipments and vehicles can be eliminated. TITRA LUBE TBN results can be compared with the ASTM Methods D-2896 and D-4739.
HYDROSCOUT
Water can be an expensive contaminate in used oil. HYDROSCOUT is an on-site test that quantifies water in used oils quickly, easily and at low costs. This method allows to determine the true value of the used oil before the oil is accepted for transportation.
FIELD
STAR 1000 / MAGNUM 310
The portable meters FIELD STAR and MAGNUM measure magnetic fields over a range of 0.004 to 100 μT (FIELD STAR) or 1000 μT respectively (MAGNUM). FIELD STAR is available for 50 Hz magnetic fields, whereas MAGNUM offers three filter settings: 50 Hz, 150 Hz or broadband (40 – 300 Hz). The FIELD STAR can be used as a data logger and record data, which can be visualised by the graphics software. Special filter settings are available upon request.
